Blood: The Last Vampire, the live-movie adaptation of the popular Japanese anime feature film last 2000, receives a huge boost when its domestic media rights was acquired by Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group. The film is set for theatrical release this summer.

With Chris Nahon (of Kiss of the Dragon fame) at the director chair, Blood: The Last Vampire is the English adaptation of the popular Japanese anime film. Gianna (Daisy, My Sassy Girl) will portray the main antagonist, Saya, a 400-year old undercover vampire slayer during the Vietnam war era.
